A massive, hulking beast of an Undead, this creature is disturbingly unnatural. This patchwork monstrosity wields two Full Moon Sickles and swings them with immense power.

Castaway Witch Donna

Description

A Red Phantom found within the icy ruins of Eleum Loyce. What was she looking for?

Equipment

Location

Frozen Eleum Loyce
Invades at the end of the ramparts just before one of the Loyce Knights.

Drops

Strategies

Approach her spawn point slowly to avoid being chased by the Rampart Golem behind her, then lure her away from the Loyce Knight's Tower. She doesn't have much poise, so either keep her stunlocked with a fast weapon or use a heavy weapon to poise-break her whenever she attempts to cast a spell.

Start by sniping the Rampart Golem with a bow to lure him within range of your close-combat weapon/spells, then approach her spawn point once he's been dealt with and back off so you can attack from a distance while she chases you. Switch to close-range attacks/spells when she moves closer. Be aware that she can cast Profound Still, even though she's using a staff, to silence you.

Start by casting Great Magic Barrier to help block her spells, then equip a strong shield and a fast weapon with strong poise damage.

Run straight past the invasion point to the Tower and either finish the Rampart Golem as quickly as possible or lure them both in and use Wrath of the Gods to deal heavy damage to both of them; Blinding Bolt also works well enough if you need time to back off and switch to melee.

Strategies

Crystal Lizards with a blue gem on their back will not attack under any circumstances. Upon being detected they will turn to face directly away from you and run forward in a straight line. After approximately ten seconds of running they will camouflage themselves and disappear; if they are not killed before this time, they will reappear after resting at a bonfire.

Note, however, that Crystal Lizards are one-time spawns and will only continue to reappear if you fail to deliver a killing blow; once defeated they will not respawn until the next game cycle or the use of a Bonfire Ascetic. These elusive creatures are tiny and exceedingly difficult to hit; they also have a unusually high defense and can survive several blows from a weak or base level weapon.

Any Crystal Lizard at any bonfire intensity can be killed in a single hit by using a 2-H strong attack from either a Raw Malformed Skull +10 or a Raw Old Knight Hammer +10 regardless of character build or stats (so long as you meet the requirements for 2-handing either of these weapons). This was tested at Bonfire Intensity 99 in Dragon's Aerie; no damage boosting gear of any kind was worn. Being in the Covenant of Champions WILL give the Crystal Lizards just enough health to survive however (even with a Ring of Blades +2).

Curse Jar

General

Tall earthenware vessels which emit dark smoke when the player is nearby. Sounds like giggling monkeys.

Location

Shaded Woods
Found throughout the map.

Huntsman's Copse
Found throughout the map near the Undead Lockaway bonfire.

Shrine of Amana
Found throughout the map.

Strategies

Smash them, either by rolling over them, shooting them with heavy enough arrows, aiming spells at them or with consumables like Firebombs.

Summoned Phantoms cannot be cursed, so they can destroy them with no risk

The dark smoke released by vases causes the Curse status effect, though simply moving close enough to the jars will get your curse meter to rise.
The jars' effect can travel through walls and floors. However, unlike poison or acid jars, rolling over the jars doesn't coat you in anything, instead ending their curse-inducing effect.

Dark Priestess

General

A Hollowed Drangleic priestess found in the Dragon Shrine.
The reason for her presence there is unclear.
Did she journey to the shrine in search of a cure for the Curse,
or was she a resident responsible for performing holy rites?
As there is no way of knowing this now, it is best simply to put her out of her misery.

Elite Giant

aka Great Giant Warrior

General

Senior soldiers of the army of Giants which invaded Drangleic long ago.
Far larger and more formidable than their subordinates, the only Elite Giants to have survived the war reside in a hidden cavern in Black Gulch.
The two obelisk sized stone clubs wielded by an Elite Giant can reduce flesh to paste and bone to powder.
This mountain of a foe is beyond all but the mightiest of warriors… or the most bottomless of ammunition stockpiles.

Despawning tips:
Tip 1 : If you are trying to despawn them, their respawning timer is roughly 3 blizzard cycles from the time you kill one (start of blizzard to clear sky is one cycle). Mark an area with a prism stone so you can find the spot again if the battle drags you away.
Tip 2 : To make despawning easier, make sure you draw the aggression of only one at a time.
Tip 3 : Bring lots of repair powder, despawning is a very time consuming technique.
Tip 4 : summon Abbess feeva and head of vengarl to help you, Feeva can occasionally heal you and Vengarl has a ton of health.Frozen reindeer's may often choose to charge at them rather than you making it a rather easy but lengthy process

Heide Knight

Description

Whether Heide was a proper kingdom or not isn't clear, as it fell into the sea long ago. What is known is that the Way of Blue originated in Heide. Equipment from Heide still exists today, as well, which speaks to the durability of the special alloy used in its construction. If this knight truly is from the ancient land of Heide, is it possible that time distortion explains his presence?1

A resting hollow knight. Fights back vigorously if struck, but otherwise completely harmless.

Ironclad Soldier

aka Ironclad Soldier (Great Club)

Description

Originally, Ironclad Soldiers were minions created by the Old Iron King with an enchantment of souls. The enchantment is long gone and the iron husk that remains is quite decrepit. The soldiers who don this armor now never speak, and no one has seen their faces. Could it be that King Vendrick of Drangleic revived these ancient creations, or perhaps he produced war golems of his own?1

One day, warriors wearing decrepit armor emerged from Drangleic castle, and quietly assumed positions among the royal army.
Not one of them ever spoke a word, or revealed the face under the mask.2

Manikin

aka Masked Manikin

Decription

These advanced puppets were given life by the Baneful Queen, and she uses them to lure unsuspecting fools into her traps. Once upon a time, the Manikins had heads, but the Queen ripped off their faces in a fit of rage. Watch yourself, or yours will be next.1

A fickle queen gave them life, and tore off their faces. How else could she forgive those who dared gaze upon her?
The peculiar art of puppetry is a vestige of the two lost lands. A queen breathed life into these dolls with
the very miasma that afflicted her poison-drenched bosom, so that she would have slaves to serve her temperamental will.

Mimic

aka Entity of Avarice

Description

Long ago, there was a clan that was exiled for their avarice. In their exile, they were branded with a symbol of greed, and with it a curse. But, truly, suffering leads to great power, and the clan walks the earth still.1

They mimic a wooden or iron chest. If you try to open them, they will perform a very powerful grab attack, biting the player repeatedly for heavy damage.

Easy melee strategy

Baiting them to perform their Sit attack gives time for two safe melee swings. A bit tricky in Aldia's Keep since there isn't a lot of room to move and you can be caught with your back against a wall.
Suggest removing heavy equipment so that rolling to safety is quicker.

Old Ironclad Soldier

One day, warriors wearing decrepit armor
emerged from Drangleic castle, and quietly
assumed positions among the royal army.

Not one of them ever spoke a word,
or revealed the face under the mask.

Primal Knight

Description

One of the original Primal Knights, this ragged creature went Hollow long ago and now wanders mindlessly with its equipment in tatters from long years of neglect. First created through a dark and forbidden ritual in ages past, the Primal Knights are artificial creatures contrived by a twisted and power-hungry mind. Their susceptibility to the Undead Curse, a trait they share with humans, raises foreboding questions about the rituals through which they were given life…

A healthy, living Primal Knight. These peculiar but unquestionably mighty creatures were recreated by King Vendrick through a long-lost forbidden ritual most likely rediscovered by Lord Aldia; they have been used as guards at Drangleic Castle ever since their revival. The existence of Undead Primal Knights suggests that they are susceptible to the Curse and leads one to wonder if these monstrous beasts were themselves once human…1

Go to the Foyer bonfire and take the elevator on the left going up, follow it all the way up and get off on the right. As soon as you get off, you'll encounter a second elevator going up, get on that and go left at the top (if you're facing the wall it's left, if you're facing outward it's right) and open the gate leading to another elevator (you need the Tower Key). Take this elevator up and you'll find the group.

Drops

Strategies

Four more will spawn when you try to go up the stairs. There is an Ashen Idol nearby which heals enemies in a similar fashion to Warmth.

Several of him will spawn at once, and he will not count as being vanquished until all of them are defeated. Any that are killed will not respawn. The first one seems to have more health than the rest, but doesn't use a bow. Don't try to take on the other 4 at once, as they will pummel you with arrows or use their katanas which cause bleed. Instead, draw them out with a throwing knife or bow 1-2 at a time and take them out that way.

If you get overwhelmed, the elevator is a quick escape as they won't follow you, or will fall to their death. This only works if it's already on its way up, however.

The encounter is designed to take advantage of the player's natural instinctive reaction, which is to retreat back to the elevator when they see the additional Prowlers spawning, thereby putting themselves into a very disadvantageous situation with very little room to maneuver. If you instead run past them as they're spawning, you can light the Smelter Throne bonfire before they reach you and make the fight much easier for yourself by kiting them around the large circular room. And if you do die, you'll respawn at the bonfire you just lit.

Skeleton

Description

This curved sword-wielding Skeleton is hiding in Cale's house in Majula. It's unknown whose Skeleton this might be or what force animates it; perhaps Cale inadvertently disturbed this poor soul's resting place. Either way, it must be dispatched before Cale will return to the residence… and if you want the treasures it guards.1 These reanimated corpses are often under the control of a Necromancer, and they will be revived repeatedly until their Wizard is killed. Whether they served the Iron King or fled from his troops in life makes no difference now, as they are the property of their necromantic masters.2 The skeletons in this region are of unknown origins. They could be former subjects of the Iron King who were worked to death in the poisonous mines or poor Souls who wandered in more recently. Regardless, whether it was the massive Pools of Poison or giant monsters overseeing the Laborers, something killed these poor fools… but they've left it to you to finish the job.3

The Imperfect

Description

Strange, powerful and twisted unsettling creatures of unknown origins. They appear to be somewhat related to either dragons or drakes although this is somewhat a theory as details of their creation / existence are little to none.

They are extremely large, reptilian and stand on two legs (similar to a Drake except lacking wings). They have pitch black skin which appears to ooze a thick black slime and a massive, smooth and semicircular shaped head that is featureless; with no visible eyes, nose or ears, except for an enormous mouth that's filled with gigantic crushing teeth that are, peculiarly, human-like in nature, rather than reptilian shaped (the latter seen in dragons, basilisks and drakes etc). They also have a small pointed tail. Although they lack wings - these creatures are capable of using their legs to jump extreme distances and heights - covering ground extremely quickly and surprisingly - as their size and general movements would not allude to this ability. Some magical force must brew within these monstrosities because they are additionally able to fire a large, electrical, explosive orb of darkness from their gaping jaws.

Perhaps they are poor imitations of dragons created in an attempt to mimic their great power? Or maybe they are offspring of humanity and dragons combined? We may never know. But what is certain however, is that these creatures will happily devour you and are extremely tough to kill.

As if a lifetime of toil wasn't enough, these workers continue their duties even in death. And this time, their job is to kill you. Probably as in life, these under-appreciated, down-trodden souls simply aren't equipped for the task - they face you unarmed.1

Undead Prisoner

aka Abandoned Hollow

Description

No chains or shackles hold these poor souls.
The curse of hollowing that all undead
endure: endless death, each re-awakening
less aware of whom one was before death,
imprisons them in an endless cycle until
madness takes hold. So have they been named as such.

Unarmed green-skinned hollows that are very similar to the Captive Undead, but with more health.

Undead Steelworker

aka Hammersmith

These brutish characters may have once worked for the Iron King in the construction of the many weapons and armors that he required, but now they are as Hollowed as the Laborers who slave away in the mines. There is a difference, however: Strength. The Steelworkers have huge hammers whereas the common laborers merely flail about with their arms.1

Location

Harvest Valley
There is only one of these in Harvest Valley and he is directly outside of Earthen Peak guarding one of the entrances and the path to the Heirs of the Sun covenant statue.

Earthen Peak
There are few of them before Covetous Demon boss fight and one after.

Strategy

These are quite easy to take out as long as you don't get ambushed by a group, and even then with the speed of their attacks they shouldn't be too tough to handle.

They will sometimes poison themselves by breaking the poison vessels in the area just before Earthen Peak.

Beware of the shockwave their groundhitting attacks create. If you get a feeling for the timing, try to roll through the shockwave to attack

Varangian Sailor

aka Hollow Varangian

Description

The Varangians were a fierce band of pirates who prowled the seas of Drangleic's northern coastline.
They were conquered by a former king who chose to force them into hard labor at No Man's Wharf rather than imprison them.
They continue to labor at No Man's Wharf, and still fight with deadly proficiency. Of particular note is their long-range Sea Bow;
it was once used against monsters at sea, but it will now be put to use against you…
