These mysterious invertebrates wait for prey to pass within striking distance and then burst out to attack,
using fingerlike appendages to immobilize the victim while grinding it apart with hideous chewing mouthparts.1

- The tar pools they reside in can be set on fire. This will kill them without pulling their attention and makes for easy titanite farming.
- The tips of their fingers can be seen when they are still hiding in the tar.

Spinning Lash |
The Coal Tar spins around and lashes at the player with it's tail. |

If the player is far away, the Coal Tar will lunge forward, head first. |
